Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 June 2026 · Draft — pending solicitor review.

1. Who we are

Parallel ("Parallel", "we", "us", "our") is a daily planning app for parents and families, operated by Risk Strategic Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. Parallel is a trading name of Risk Strategic Ltd.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, Risk Strategic Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

2. The law we follow

We process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

3. The personal data we collect

Account information — your name and email address, and a securely stored (hashed) password when you create an account.

Your planner content — events, tasks, routines and notes you enter. This may include information about other people in your household, including your children. We recommend entering the minimum needed (first names or initials).

Location information — place names and addresses you enter or that the assistant looks up to plan your day.

AI assistant inputs — the "brain dump" text and scheduling details you submit so the assistant can build your day.

Waitlist sign-ups — before launch, we collect your email address and your consent so we can let you know when Parallel is ready. You can unsubscribe at any time.

4. Children's data

Parallel is designed to be used by adults to organise family life. It is not intended for use by children. We process limited personal data about children only because a parent or guardian chooses to enter it. We do not use children's data for marketing or profiling.

5. Why we process your data

We process data to provide the planner, generate AI-assisted schedules, take payments, provide support, keep the service secure, improve the app, and send service messages. Where we rely on consent (e.g. marketing), you can withdraw it at any time.

6. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers needed to run Parallel — including our AI provider, maps provider, hosting and database, in-app payment processors (Apple, Google Play), subscription management, web payments, and email delivery (Resend) — under written contracts that require them to protect it.

7. Transfers outside the UK

Some providers may process your data outside the UK. Where this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place under UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

8. How long we keep your data

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a short retention period, except where we must keep certain records longer for legal reasons.

9. How we protect your data

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers.

10. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of your data, data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it.

You can complain to the ICO at any time: ico.org.uk.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes we will notify you in the app or by email.

12. Contact us
